Tony Gutierrez brings decades of high-level criminal law experience to D’Angelo Wujciak LLP as a seasoned New Jersey criminal defense attorney. During his distinguished 25-year tenure with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Tony handled and supervised a broad spectrum of complex criminal matters, including murder, robbery, identity theft, theft by deception, drug offenses, weapons charges, and sexual assault cases.

Throughout his prosecutorial career, Tony served in several elite units, including the Adult Trial Unit, Special Victims Unit, Narcotics Task Force, Juvenile Unit, and Domestic Violence Unit. His extensive supervisory and trial experience provides him with unique insight into prosecutorial strategy and courtroom dynamics, enabling him to craft effective and aggressive defense strategies for clients facing serious criminal charges.

Before joining D’Angelo Wujciak LLP, Tony spent nine years in private practice focused exclusively on criminal defense, further strengthening his perspective from both sides of the courtroom. Over the course of his career, he has overseen numerous jury and bench trials, evidentiary hearings, and grand jury presentations.
