Tony Gutierrez brings decades of high-level criminal law experience to D’Angelo Wujciak LLP as a seasoned New Jersey criminal defense attorney. During his distinguished 25-year tenure with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Tony prosecuted and supervised a broad spectrum of criminal matters ranging from narcotics offenses to violent crimes, including identity theft, aggravated assault, weapons offenses, sexual assault, robbery and murder.

Throughout his prosecutorial career, Tony served in several specialized units, including the Adult Trial Unit, Special Victims Unit, Narcotics Task Force, Juvenile Unit, and Domestic Violence Unit. His extensive supervisory and trial experience provides him with unique insight into prosecutorial strategy and courtroom dynamics, enabling him to craft effective and aggressive defense strategies for clients facing serious criminal charges.



Before joining D’Angelo Wujciak LLP, Tony spent nine years in private practice focused exclusively on criminal defense, further strengthening his perspective from both sides of the courtroom. Over the course of his career, he has overseen numerous jury and bench trials, evidentiary hearings, and grand jury presentations.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Tony is committed to providing strategic, results-driven representation tailored to each client’s needs.
